Ep. 21 SAVE TIME in Your Nighttime Routine with Micellar Water and My Favorite Brands

 
In this episode of the Beauty Advice Made Simple podcast, I discuss the advantages of using micellar water as an alternative to makeup wipes. I’ll remind you WHY  makeup wipes can be harmful to the skin (due to their rough texture, excessive exfoliation potential, and unwanted preservatives) and why Micellar Water is a MUCH better alternative in every way!
 
I’ll explain how micellar water is an effective option for removing makeup, SPF, and dirt from the skin without irritating it. I’ll tell you exactly what it is, about its origins in France, and how it can be incorporated into a skincare routine as a first step before a regular facial wash. I love micellar water for its simplicity and convenience and how it can make any skincare routine easier and more efficient. 
 
I’ll also tell you that while micellar water is great, it’s not a “one-and-done” cleansing solution and why it’s still important to choose a quality, dedicated facial cleanser. I’ll also tell you about my two favorite brands, for those interested in trying a superior formula micellar water out of the gate.

Ep.19 -Makeup Wipes -Why I Don't Like Them and Want You to Stop Using Them

IF YOU USE MAKEUP REMOVING WIPES EVERYDAY (OR A LOT!) THEN THIS EPISODE IS FOR YOU SISTER! 
 
Are you a Makeup Wipe Lover? If you said yes, it’s probably because you love them for their easy convenience. But - are they good for your skin? The answer is NO - Makeup Wipes are NOT good for your skin and shouldn’t be used on a daily basis in lieu of a good facial cleanser!
In this episode I talk about all the reasons why makeup wipes are literally the worst way to take off your makeup, SPF, and the general grime from the day. And in case you were wondering, YES,  makeup wipes do have their place, but only when you have NO access to a sink or you have no other choice! 
They are NOT ideal on a daily basis, but, If you are in a situation where a makeup wipe is the only thing you have to cleanse your face, I break down HOW  to use them with the least amount of irritation possible (and what to do after you use them!)

These are what I see as careless errors that may “seem” like not so important things but OVER TIME, can really wreck all kinds of havoc for our skin!

Ep.17 Let’s Face It Lent can be Rough(How to Start to Feel Better About It)

It happens to all of us - It seems like Lent has a particular way of “sneaking” up on us every single year. No sooner are we finally able to catch our breath from the beautiful yet hectic Season of Christmas, THEN -  Lent comes up and smacks us across the face!
“I’M HERE!” It cries. UGH. Needless to say - we feel anxious (maybe even a little upset) because we just don’t feel READY.
I have been in your shoes. I AM in your shoes!
This year it felt like Lent came WAY too quickly for me, and I started to feel bogged down and even RESENTFUL (If I am being 100% honest!)
It’s hard not to feel anxious and worried that we are not going to be able to keep our Lenten promises to ourselves and to God - whether it’s fasting, or abstaining from things like sweets, alcohol or binge watching trashy content on the internet. I mean, really Lord? Life is hard enough and I am already trying to do my best to live according to Your Word, and now I gotta give up YouTube or Netflix too?! Trust me I have been there.
But what if we approached Lent Differently? In this episode, I’d like to share with you a mini transformation I underwent while reading the Book of Leviticus during my Bible in a Year Reading plan this past February. 
What started as reading pages and pages of mind numbing archaic Jewish Law -started being about something different - when I started to look at it as a journey following in Jesus’ footsteps, AND His special LOVE for me!
Just as our Lord spent 40 days in the desert preparing for his ministry in the New Testament, he has already prepared a Lenten model for me to follow - so I don't have to think too much about it. And JUST when I feel like I can’t hold on because I don’t feel worthy or even worthy of His Love- he revealed himself again through the OLD Testament. And what seemed like crazy detailed laws and regulations on the Israelites and their way of life - translated itself into a message for me - now - today- as someone worthy of every second of HIS  time and attention. I wish that for you, that you KNOW He Loves you and you are worthy of every second of his time and attention. Why. Because that is the way it is! We were created in His love and to share His Love.

Ep.16 How to Use a Facial Oil in Your Skin Care Routine and Which Oil to Pick for YOUR Skin Type

 
If you want to learn about facial oils and how to use them in your skincare routine, then this is episode is for you!
Believe it or not- there is a right and wrong way to use a facial oil! Do YOU know the right way to use and layer a facial oil in your skincare routine? Most women don’t! They also don’t know that facial oils don’t offer Hydration to you skin - only skincare products that contain water can do that- but they do moisturize- and yes, there is a difference between hydration and moisture in the skin and I will explain that too!
In this video I break down facial oils - how to use them, when to layer them in your skincare routine, and which type of oil you should use according to your skin type ( I also answer questions like -should they all be “green” beauty oils?)
