Is it Vain to wear makeup? Or - is it just vain to wear “too much?”
What about if you have neglected your looks for years and don’t wear any makeup at all?What does that say (or not) about your views on your own self worth?
We all have so many ideas about beauty and makeup and grooming, and I have often pondered these types of questions, especially as I have gotten older and came back home to my Catholic faith in 2014 - after being away from the Church for 26 years.
As someone who had personally, over all that time away, struggled with self esteem issues and not feeling good or “pretty” enough, I decided to do a little digging and uncover some ideas. I wanted to know - what did some of the most influential, holy, and prominent Saints in the Catholic Church have to say about makeup and the art of “dressing ourselves up?” Is it always bad, or is there a bit of wiggle room when it comes to “painting” our faces?
What I found was super interesting!
In this episode I talk about what I found out and how we can apply the ancient wisdom of two great Church Doctors - St. Augustine of Hippo and St. Thomas Aquinas,  to how we view and WEAR makeup today in the 21st century!
Above all else, I prayed  and asked God to lead me to a conclusion that allows me (and hopefully YOU too!) to have a healthy outlook on my own self esteem and wearing makeup while following his overall plan of goodness and beauty for our lives. I hope you enjoy!

Foundation is a TOUGH makeup product to get right. Many women struggle with finding the right formula, or they apply it incorrectly- so they give up on it altogether. Never fear my friend!

I break down the TWO biggest mistakes I see women making when it comes to wearing their foundation makeup. 
I will help you pick out the RIGHT formula for your skin type and how to know what it is!
I will also show you how to re- work and re-purpose a foundation makeup product that you may already have, but have stopped wearing because you think it can’t work for you.
I also help the foundation PHOBIC - those ladies who like the idea of looking more polished and even -but they avoid foundation because they never had any luck with it OR when they have worn it, they felt they were wearing a MASK. For those ladies, I will tell you exactly what  product to look for you to give you that “natural” glow! 
And finally, for those who hate wearing foundation, never want to wear it, and are happy with the “skin” they are in - I am here to celebrate you! Rock on with your bad self!

4. Back to Basics | Don’t Wash Your Face in the Morning - The Easiest Morning Skincare Routine Ever

Welcome to Part 3 of this installment of the "This Back to Basics" Series - "Do You Have to Wash Your Face Twice a Day?"
In this episode, I address the question - if you don't have to wash your face in the morning, then what DO you do in the morning for your skin?
It seems simple enough, but there are things you can do in the morning to preserve your skin's moisture balance and barrier so that your skin looks smoother and feels softer.
By NOT washing your face in the morning, you will find that your makeup will wear better, (if you wear it) and that you will become less dry and dehydrated over time.
But what if you feel like you HAVE to wash your face in the morning because you always have  OR
you think that you are "too oily" not to? I will address that as well!Grab some paper and a pen, so you can take some quick notes! Let's get ready to shave off at least 35 minutes a week by NOT having to wash our faces in the morning.

3. Back to Basics - How to Wash Your Face at Night the Right Way | Double Cleansing Made Easy

When it comes to washing your face at night, there is a right and a wrong way to do it. I'm all about simplicity and treating your skin in the most gentle way possible. Because of this,  I always say that MOST women do NOT have to wash their face in the morning.
So that makes your nighttime facial cleanse even MORE important, and you have to do it properly if you want your skin to glow. As always, gentleness and preservation of your delicate skin barrier is key.

"You MUST wash your face twice a day - morning and night!"
Have you heard this your entire life? Of course, you have, but guess what?It is one of the biggest beauty myths around. We have been told this time and time again - it seems like forever- but is it really true? 
No, it is not necessarily true, and for MOST women, (about 90% of us) it is DEFINITELY not true! 
In this first installment of my 'Back to Basics" series, we are going to go in-depth about why you don't necessarily need to wash your face twice a day, and WHY doing that can actually weaken your skin barrier, and lead to skin dryness, dehydration, and irritation.
You'll find out what you need to do instead so that your skin looks smoother and feels healthier!
